Yobe holds retreat on dev't of training guide,others to civil servants

The Yobe State Government in collaboration with the management & Consultants of B&G Human Resource LTD has organized a retreat and validation workshop on the development of training guide and succession plan for Yobe State civil service.

Declaring the retreat and validation workshop opened,Yobe State Head of Service, Hamidu M. Alhaji said, Governor  Mai Mala Buni  remained resolute to ensuring efficiency in the civil service.

The Head of service stated that,the Governor has special passion on enhancing the performance of the civil servant especially on ensuring a sustainable succession plan and the training guide for the State Civil Service, taking into cognisance that the state do not have such documents since the creation of the State in 1991. 

He noted, that the foresight and giant initiative of the Governor will remain a great pedestrian for the future trajectory of the State Civil Service. 

He revealed that, the creation of this template could not have come at a better time than now especially that the state is recuperating from the activities of the insurgents that have ravaged the North East and the state for more than a decade. 

"The fact that the state is yearning for a durable and sustainable solution to its numerous humanitarian, economic, and human capital challenges, the State Civil Service has indeed formed part of the priority of this administration, this and other various achievements in terms of training our workforce have indeed rekindled hope in the minds of our peace loving and progressive Civil Servants." 

Hamidu M Alhaji enjoined the participants, to consider their selection to the program as one that is based on merit adding that there input will serve as the basis to compile the documents for the improvement of the effort towards human capital development. 

"Other benefits that these documents will bring to the State Civil Service include; a guide to our training effort, help us identify and mentor the best officers for higher responsibilities among others."
 
He employed the management of B&G consultants, to create an interactive forum between the participants in order to obtain reasonable, cogent, and verifiable information that will lead to the production of the document. 

Earlier in a welcome address,the Permanent Secretary Public Service Office, Office of the Head of Service, Alh. Dr. Bukar Kilo expressed his deepest gratitude to Governor Mai Mala Buni for generously sponsoring the training program. 

"His commitments to capacity building and staff development is truly commendable, and we appreciate his investment in our growth and success."
