Yobe Gov't,TCI,Others celebrate 2024 wolrd Contraceptives day

Yobe state government in collaboration with The Challenge Initiative (TCI )and other development partners in the state have on Thursday joined the rest of the world to celebrates 2024 world contraceptives day in the state.

Speaking at the awareness campaign,the executive secretary,Yobe state primary health care board,Dr Mohammed Kundi Machina said, the 2024 Contraceptives day with this year's theme,"Empowering Choices, Enhancing Lives," resonates deeply with the state commitment to improving the health and well-being of the people,especially women.

Dr Machina emphasize that,Child birth Spacing is not just a personal
choice,but a fundamental right as it enables individuals, particularly women,to make informed decisions about their reproductive health, education,and economic empowerment.

He revealed that in Yobe State,they have  recognize the importance of Childbirth Spacing in reducing maternal and infant mortality, preventing unintended pregnancies, and promoting family planning.

"The administration of His Excellency Governor Mai Mala Buni is committed to increasing access to quality Childbirth Spacing services, especially for underserved and hard-to- reach communities",said Dr Machina.

He further stated that,the state trained over 250 healthcare providers on Childbirth spacing and other reproductive health services, strengthened Childbirth Spacing services at 242 primary healthcare centers 50% increase in Childbirth Spacing services provided at public health facilities.

He revealed that,"A total of 181,853 new Childbirth Spacing services acceptors, distributed over 200,000 units of childbirth spacing commodities to health facilities and community outreach Programme reached 747,598 women with family planning information".

He also appreciated the contribution of partners in the state who have contributed immensely to this success .

On his part,Dr Philemon Mamza Yohanna ,Yobe state programme Manager The Challenge Initiative (TCI) on behalf of the development partners in the state commended Yobe state government for it's geared stride towards reducing the rate of maternal mortality in the state.

Dr.Mamza assured  continue to support Yobe state in ensuring that Childbirth Spacing is achieable in the state.

"We would do everything possible wethin our capacity and wethin our strength to ensure that Yobe state is placed on the map of what is achieving goals"said the TCI Yobe state Manager.
