NEDC Ready For Inter-School Sports Tournament In Yobe

The North East Development Commission (NEDC) has put all the necessary arrangements for its maiden secondary schools spots competition with the aimed at promoting unity,peace,and regional integration in Yobe and the north east region.
The sports events include football, athletics,table tennis,and lawn tennis,scheduled to take place from October 22 to 27, 2024,at the 27th August Stadium in Damaturu.
Speaking during a joint meeting with Yobe state ministry of basic and secondary education as well as presentation of the sporting kits to the ministry,the North East Development Commission (NEDC)lead Consultant of Spider network limited,Gambo Mamman said,NEDC decided to organize the competition due to decayed witness on sport in the north east region, hence the needs for bringing the lost glory of spors in secondary schools back to life.
He revealed that,six states of Borno,Adamawa,Gombe,Bauchi,Taraba and Yobe states."Two team from each of the three senatorial zones in each of the states will participate in the tournament
Appreciating the NEDC over the donated supporting kits ,the commissioner Yobe state ministry of basic and secondary education, Prof.Abba Idriss said, sporting activities and other extra curriculum activities in the life of students is very much paramount.
Represented by the permanent secretary of the ministry,Bukar Aji Bukar,the Commissioner revealed that,the competition actually it's help in once life both mentally, physically, academically, leadership and social skills and hope for the Yobe state contingents in the competition to be the best or second best at the end of the tournament.
