Close-out:Fhi360 meets with Yobe stakeholders on sustainability
The Fhi360 Alive and Thrive in collaboration with Yobe State Primary Health Care Board have conducted a 2-day transition and sustainability close-out planning meeting with key stakeholders in Damaturu,Yobe state.
The meeting took place on the 6th and 7th September, 2024 with participants from Yobe State Ministry of Health,Yobe State Primary Health Care Management Board (YSPHCB),Yobe State Ministry of Budget,NAFDAC, ASA Health Partners and Taimako Community Development Initiative.
The meeting aims to validate and approve the state sustainability plan for FHI360 Alive and Thrive Maternal Infants and Young Child Nutrition project in Yobe State.
In his opening remark,Yobe state Commissioner of Health and Human Service,Dr. Muhammad Lawan Gana,stated the commitments of the ministry towards a smooth transition and sustainability measures on all initiatives for better results.
Represented by the Director of Public Health Dr.Hauwa Larai Goni,the Commissioner further said,ministry of health is like an umbrella for maintaining policies of health sector in the state while FHI360 Alive and Thrive is one of the partner supporting this activity in the State.
He thanked Fhi360 for all the support rendered to the state,"I'm happy to be part of the sustainability close-out meeting hoping that all the operational challenges have been key into the final report of the plan that is closing out",he added.
Earlier in his welcome address the Executive Secretary,Yobe State Primary Health Care Board Dr.Babagana Kundi Machina said,FHI360 Alive and Thrive has supported the state to increase capacity of government staff and key stakeholders to deliver maternal Infant Young child nutrition,advocacy at the state and LGA levels with a view to Strengthen the innovative as well as proven approach to accelerate the scale o (MIYCN).
Represented by the Director Family and Community Health Mr. Satomi Hikama,he stated that,they have also supported the state during MIYCN supportive supervision,advocacy on MIYCN policies and nutrition budget allocation in the state as well as the State Committee for Food and nutrition sector in the state.
On her part,the state Nutrition Officer Mrs Hadiza Maina gave a goodwill message by assuring partner that all the achievement of Alive & Thrive in the state will be sustained at both State and LGA level.
She thanked the organization for their support especially the Maternal Infants and Young Child Nutrition in the state.
