Sector 2 Joint Task Force NE Holds WASA 2023 In Yobe

The Sector 2 Joint Task Force North East Operation Hadin has on Friday celebrated the West African Social Activities (WASA) 2023.

The occasion took place at yhe August 27th Stadium in Damaturu, Yobe State. 

The event created an opportunity for the troops at the war front to to showcase their cultural heritage as well as celebrate with their friends, families and other stakeholders. 

The Commander Sector 2 Joint Task Force North East Operation Hadin Kai, Major General Mayirenso Lander David Saraso highlighted the importance of WASA in preserving the Nigerian Army's customs, ethics and traditions within the diverse cultures of the Nigerian soceity. He added that, "The event was aimed at appreciating the efforts of our gallant troops for the successes achieved throughout the outgone year 2023 within our area of responsibility." 

General Saraso commended the operational team members comprising the Brigade Commanders, Battalion Commanding Officers and their gallant troops, robust Staff Officers, members of the Yobe State Peace and Vigilante Group and the Yobe State Hunters Group for overcoming the various challenges encountered during the year and for successful observing all scheduled activities. 

He attributed the successes recorded to the dedication of the personnel.The Sector 2 Commander further expressed his gratitude to President Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen TA Lagbaja and the Theatre Commander, Major General W Shaibu for their supports and provisions of needed enablers in the conduct of the Counter Insurgency Operations. 

Also speaking during the occasion,Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State,represented by the Secretary to the State Government,Baba Malam Wali commended the synergy between the military and other security agencies in the state.



Buni said that,the commitment and resilience of the men have resulted in the relative peace the state is enjoying.

The Governor  further said "the WASA is a Social Activity that displays the rich cultural heritage of the nation, which showcases the various cultural specifics that shows the unity, diversity and strength of the nation that needed to be sustained at all times".

Present at the occasion were the EGovernor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Baba Mali,the Emir of Damaturu, Alhaji Shehu Hashim II El Kanemi, represented by Waziri of  Damaturu, Special Adviser on Security Affairs to Yobe State Governor, Brigadier General Dahiru Abdulsalam (Rtd), Head of Security and Law Enforcement Agencies in Yobe State, Commanders of Formations and Units in Sector 2 Operation HADIN KAI among other invited dignitaries in Yobe State. 

Highlights of the event were cultural displays, Tug-of-War competition  between Troops of the Nigerian Army and Men of the Nigeria Police Force, the presentations of commendation certificates to deserving soldiers of Sector 2, presentations souvenirs to the Special Guest of Honour and other invited dignitaries and group photographs.

Buni attends Christmas Carol, pledges support for Christian fateful

9 Months After:5,029 Staff Fail to Submit Bio Data Forms in Yobe

Yusuf, Damaturu   A total of 5,029 out of 32,140 staff members in the Yobe State Government workforce have failed to submit their Bio Data forms nine months after the verification exercise in the state.   The Permanent Secretary of the Yobe State Public Service and Chairman of the Committee for the Generation of the Nominal Roll of Yobe State Civil Servants, Dr. Bukar Kilo, disclosed this on Wednesday while presenting the verification report to the State Head of Service, Alhaji Tonga Betara Bularafa.   He stated that 27,111 out of the 32,140 total workforce participated in the exercise, while 5,029 staff members failed to submit their Bio Data forms, raising concerns about the authenticity of the staff records.   To address this issue, the committee has proposed the establishment of a Verification Committee.  According to Dr. Kilo, "The Verification Committee will require all staff who failed to submit thei...
