LG polls:Gov.Buni impressed with voters turn-out

 


Yobe state Governor,Mai Mala Buni has impressed with the tur-out of electorates who were at various poling units to exercise their civil rights during the local government chairmanship and councillors elections in the state.

Buni expressed his mind shortly after  casting his vote at his polling station, Bulturam Yarimari, Buni- Gari town of Gujba Local Government of the state.

He said,democracy is to give people the right to cast their votes in order to exercise their civil rights.

The governor revealed that,he is not in opposed with the local government autonomy adding that when he came onboard in 2019 his concept is to give autonomy to the local government unfortunately about six out of the 17 local government area in the state can't even pay their own salary.

"So the wisdom behind this joint account complementing the effort of the local government's with the state working together in executing some projects".

Buni appreciated the effort of the security operatives for providing an enabling environment for electorates to come out en masse to exercise their franchise across the state without any form of intimidation.
