Gov.Buni dissolve all LG councils

Yobe state Governor Mai Mala Buni has approved the dissolution of all Local Government Councils of the 17 Local Governments.

This is contained in a statement by the Press Secretary to Yobe SSG, Shuaibu Abdullahi and made available to press men in Damaturu 

According to the statement,Governor Buni has also directed all Local Government Chairmen to handover the affairs of their Local Governments to Directors of Personnel Management on or before Thursday 25th April, 2024.

By Yusuf A Yusuf, Damaturu  As part of its ongoing mission to support education, the Madakin Gudi Foundation has cleared five months’ stipends for 167 volunteer teachers across twenty-one schools in the Fika Local Government Area of Yobe State. A team from the Foundation mandated to carry out the payment set out in the early hours of Wednesday, 11th March 2026, visiting each of the 21 schools for the exercise.  The team first visited the Chana community and later proceeded to Godowoli and other villages, ending the exercise in Gadaka. Three volunteers in each of the schools were given the sum of One Hundred Thousand Naira to cover their monthly stipends. Yobe L-PRES Project Hands Over Livestock Market to Geidam Community

By Yusuf A Yusuf, Damaturu  The Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRES), a World Bank-funded program, has commissioned and handed over a modern livestock market to the Geidam local government area of Yobe State.  The market, located at the Nigeria-Niger border, is expected to boost livestock trade between the two countries and create jobs. The market covers a 400m x 400m area, with features including perimeter fencing, gates, security outpost, veterinary clinic, administrative block, solar-powered boreholes, and drinking points. Other amenities include loading and off-loading ramps, toilets, and a livestock weighing scale. Project Coordinator Adama Hussaini Madaki said the market would strengthen livestock trade and improve revenue generation. Yobe APC Exco Receive National Party Chairman Ganduje
