Yobe Journalists trains on Media Advocacy for Child Spacing

In an effort to improve maternal and child health,reducing poverty,and promoting economic growth in the state,Development Communications (DevComs) with the support of The Challenge Initiative (TCI)has on Wednesday commenced a 3-day training for journalists and social media influencers on Media advocacy for  reproductive health including child spacing aspect in Yobe state. Speaking during the training in Damaturu,the TCI state program manager,Dr.Philemon Yohanna said,the training is aimed to facilitate scale up of media  engagement in enhancing policy commitment, action and community support for increase accessibility and acceptability to appropriate child spacing   information and services in the state. Sector 2 Joint Task Force NE Holds WASA 2023 In Yobe

Late Bukar:Gadaka join Gov.Buni in receiving Condolences

  By Yusuf A Yusuf, Damaturu  The State Chairman,All Progressives Congress(APC),Alhaji Mohammed Gadaka,was among the dignitaries in the state who joined Governor Mai Mala Buni in receiving thousands of sympathisers to condole with the government and pay their last respect to the former Yobe state Governor,late Senator Bukar Abba Ibrahim. Late Bukar Abba Ibrahim died in Saudi Arabia on Sunday after a protracted illness. Governor,Mai Mala Buni,Mohammed Gadaka as well as top government officials in the state have today received,Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya,Gombe State Governor who was in the state for a condolence visit. Also,Individuals and groups within and outside the state continued to arrive at the government house mosque to pray for the repose of the soul of the late former governor. During the condolences,prayers were offered for Almighty Allah to forgives late Bukar Abba Ibrahim and grant him into Al-Jannatul firdaus

By Yusuf A Yusuf, Damaturu  The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate,Musa Mustapha winner of the just concluded Yobe East Senatorial bye-election. The deputy vice chancellor Administration,federal University Gashua(FUGA) Associates Professor,Ibrahim Ahmed Jajere who is the Returning Officer of the election,declared Musa Mustapha winner after the counting of votes at the collation centre at federal polytechnic damaturu on Sunday. Jajere said that the APC candidate polled 68,778 votes to defeat his closest rival,Aji Kolomi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who had 18,878 votes.
