Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has reaffirmed his support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, declaring that the state remains firmly aligned with the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The Deputy Governor of Yobe State, Alhaji Idi Barde Gubana, who represented Governor Mai Mala Buni, stated this on Friday during the distribution of campaign vehicles and materials by the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Movement for Door-to-Door Campaign at the 27th August Stadium in Damaturu.

Gubana said there was no need for an extensive campaign to convince voters in Yobe to support Tinubu, describing the state as “hundreds percent” behind the President.

According to him, the state has already restructured its campaign machinery from the state level down to the ward level ahead of the 2027 elections.

He assured the delegation of the movement of Yobe’s support for the President, while commending the organisers for mobilising grassroots support for the campaign.

The movement was led by its founder, High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, and its National Coordinator, Comrade Sunday Adekanbi Asuku.

Speaking on behalf of Tompolo, Asuku highlighted what he described as the impact of the Tinubu administration’s policies, particularly on the ability of state governments to pay salaries and implement capital projects.

He urged Nigerians to support the President for another term, saying the administration should be allowed to continue its policies and programmes.

The event was attended by prominent APC stakeholders in Yobe, including the party’s governorship candidate, Alhaji Baba Mallam Wali; State APC Chairman, Alhaji Mohammad Gadaka; and Speaker of the Yobe State House of Assembly, Hon. Chiroma Buba Mashio.

The stakeholders also expressed their support for Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The ceremony featured the official launch and distribution of campaign vehicles and other materials to facilitate the movement’s door-to-door mobilisation campaign across Yobe State.
