YSEIB Issues Strong Unity Call to Yobe APC Factions as it Inaugurates Pre-2027 Political Strategy

The Yobe Strategic Engagement Initiative for Bola Tinubu,Mai Mala and Wali (BMW) has Wednesday held its inaugural mandate convention, successfully uniting factions within the All Progressives Congress (APC) to secure overwhelming victories in the 2027 general elections.
The convention, organised at the Art and Cultural Centre auditorium in Damaturu, the group pledge massive votes for Alhaji Baba Malam Wali (BMW) for governor, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (BAT) for re-election, and all other APC candidates in the state.
The YSEIB State Coordinator, Barrister Muhammad Saleh Ahmed, outlined three critical challenges hindering the APC's electoral performance in the state such as ;low voter registration and turnout, opposition strongholds, and internal party divisions following primaries.
He revealed, according to INEC data, that Yobe has only 1.4 million registered voters, and the 2023 presidential election attracted fewer than 300,000 total voters across all parties.
"We heard stories of Fulani people with voter cards who went to polling stations on election day to sell milk, unaware that elections were being held," Ahmed revealed, stressing the urgent need for grassroots awareness campaigns.
He noted that YSEIB positions itself as a coalition of various political tendencies, including supporters of Senator Ahmed Ibrahim Lawan, the Bomai faction, and even non-APC members. The initiative aims to re-engage disenchanted supporters who withdrew from politics following perceived unfair treatment during primaries.
"Some supporters feel their candidate was not treated fairly because someone else was favored or due to ethnic considerations," Ahmed stated, noting that many unsuccessful candidates' backers now engage in "secret protests" or political apathy.
He further acknowledged that the initiative will deploy representatives across all sectors and communities to raise election awareness, mediate grievances, foster inclusive political participation, demonstrate the link between good governance and development, and build lasting government community relationships.
Ahmed emphasized that achieving these goals requires "acceptance, trust, and satisfaction" beyond monetary incentives, acknowledging that candidates' established ideologies and opinions are deeply rooted.
In his remarks,Yobe APC governorship candidate, Alhaji Baba Malam Wali, represented by the Commissioner for Justice who is also the APC deputy Governor Candidate in the state, Barrister Saleh Samanja, appreciated the organisers of the programme.
He use the forum and commended the group for supporting all the APC candidates, ranging from the presidential candidate to the governorship and the National and state Assemblies.
He assured the APC in the state that they would not let them down when elected. He equally called on APC supporters in the state to obtain their voter cards and vote for the APC from top to bottom in both the state and the country at large.
