KACRAN Condoles Fika Emirate over Death of former HoSF, Fika

By Yusuf A Yusuf, Damaturu Kulen Allah Cattle Rearers Association of Nigeria (KACRAN)has on Monday paid a condolence visit to the palace of His Royal Highness the Emir of Fika,Chairman Yobe State Council of Chiefs and National Patron of Kulen Allah, Alhaji Dr  Mohammad Ibn Abali  Mohammadu Idrisa CFR over the recent death of one of the King makers and Wazirin Fika,Dr Adamu Fika GCON. The delegation was lead by Lamido Damana Yerima, Chairman of the Association's Board of Trustees who represented the National President of the Association,Hon Khalil Mohd Bello. Yobe has lost an Elder Statesman-Gov.Buni

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state, has received with sadness, the news of the passing away of a leader, elder statesman, and illustrous son of the state, Alh. Adamu Fika, the Wazirin Fika. Buni described the death of the Wazirin Fika as a great national loss, and a loss with wide vaccum to his family, Fika Emirate, and Yobe state. "We have lost a great leader, a wise counsellor, a pride of our state and a gentleman with passion for equity and social justice. "The death of Alh. MCRP donates GIS,remote sensing equipment to FUGA

By Yusuf A Yusuf, Damaturu  The World Bank Multi-Sectoral Crisis Recovery Project (MCRP), has donated Geographic Information System (GIS) and Remote Sensing Technology equipment worth millions of naira to the Federal University, Gashua (FUGA), Yobe State. The equipment, which consists of projectors, Television monitors, Printers, Digitizers, GPS units, and sensors, among others, were received by the Vice- Chancellor, Professor Maimuna Waziri, and handed over to the Geography department. While commenting on the donation, Prof. Maimuna said that the equipment will help enhance the capacity of the institution in monitoring the environment, studying climate change impacts, and managing natural disasters such as fire, droughts, flooding, fresh water availability, evapotranspiration, and crop yields. OPHK holds Quiz Competition for Public Schools in Yobe

The competition which was organized by the Nigerian Army in partnership with Yobe State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, took place at the examination hall of Government Girl's Unity College Damaturu. Gov. Buni Signs Hisbah, YITDA bills into Law.

By Yusuf A Yusuf, Damaturu  Governor, Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state has Friday signed two bills establishing the Hisbah Commission, and the Yobe State Information Technology Development Agency (YITDA) into law. The Hisbah Commission law is to monitor the enforcement and implementation of Shariah and prevent other social vices in the state. Similarly, the Yobe State Information Technology Development Agency law is to coordinate and collaborate with institutions in mentoring and training of youths in the field of information technology in the state. The two laws enacted by the Yobe state House of Assembly and signed by His Excellency Governor Buni, comes into effect Friday,6th October 2023.

Yobe Seek UNDP's Support in developing 10-year Dev't Plan

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state has requested the Support of the  United Nations Development Programme ( UNDP) in developing a comprehensive 10-year Development Plan with a clear fiscal roadmap linking the humanitarian-development Nexus. The Governor made the request Tuesday when he received a high-powered delegation from UNDP led by the Resident Representative, Mohammed Yahaya,Representative of the Swiss Government and management of the North East Development Commission (NEDC) for a courtesy called at the Government house damaturu. Bunu stated that, Yobe state is one of the states devastated by the Boko Haram Insurgency in the North East,with Gujba Local Government area as one of the severest affected areas in the state. Yahya who led a high-powered delegation to the state Tuesday, stated this after a facility tour of the 375 bed capacity Maternity and Child healthcare complex. "The two pillars of Governor Buni's development agenda, investing in health and education are in line with the Sustainable Development Goals Programme. "The investment in the health sector is pretty impressive and Yobe state is back on the path of development after the devastation by the insurgency" he said.
