FUDECO Yobe Hosts Dissemination Workshop on IDRC/SPARC Research Finding

The Fulbe Development and Cultural Organization (FUDECO), Yobe State Chapter, recently organized a one-day dissemination workshop to present research findings compiled by the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) and the Supporting Pastoralism and Agriculture in Recurrent Crises (SPARC) GES Project. The workshop, held at the Summit Conference Hall in Damaturu, was presided over by the Speaker of the Yobe State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chiroma Buba Mashio. In his remarks, Mashio emphasized that the research findings would significantly contribute to the preservation and development of Fulani cultural heritage. 40 Women Empowered to Lead Anti-Corruption Efforts in Yobe

The Borno Coalition for Democracy and Progress (BOCODEP) on Tuesday inaugurated a three-day capacity-building workshop for women, focusing on anti-corruption and accountability.The workshop is supported by the MacArthur Foundation.   Professor Nuhu Diraso Ngapsiso from the Department of Mass Communication at the University of Maiduguri, one of the key resource persons for the workshop, stated that the training aims to advance women’s role in the fight against corruption and promote accountability.   He explained that the workshop seeks to empower women with the necessary knowledge to combat corruption and ensure accountability in governance.   "Nigeria’s current challenges stem largely from endemic corruption, which has hindered progress for many years.We have failed to develop as a nation because resources meant for critical infrastructure are often embezzled by those entrusted with serving the people." Yobe Head of Service Inspects Promotion Exams, Urges Dedication from 3,207 Candidates

By Yusuf A Yusuf, Damaturu Yobe State Head of Service, Alhaji Hamisu Tonga Betara Bularafa, personally inspected the ongoing 2025 Civil Service Promotion Examinations across the state's three designated centers on Saturday,engaging with candidates and reaffirming the government's commitment to workforce development. A total of 3,207 senior civil servants are sitting for the crucial examinations, which are mandatory for career advancement.  The candidates are distributed across,Damaturu Centre (Government Girls’ Unity College - GGUC)with 1,852 candidates,Gashua Centre (Umar Suleiman College of Education - USCOE) with 858 candidates and Potiskum Centre (College of Administration, Management and Technology (CAMTECH) with 497 candidates.
