A governorship aspirant under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yobe State, Kashim Musa Tumsah, has strongly refuted ongoing rumours claiming he has withdrawn from the race, describing the reports as false and misleading.
In a press release issued by his Campaign Media Directorate on Wednesday, Tumsah reaffirmed his commitment to contesting the upcoming APC gubernatorial primaries, insisting he remains a “bona fide aspirant” pursuing his ambition with courage and faith in the democratic process.
The statement, which comes amid growing speculation about his candidacy, emphasized that Tumsah’s participation is driven by a firm belief in due process, fairness, and strict adherence to the Electoral Act 2026 as well as APC guidelines for direct primaries.
“He remains resolute and determined to continue the struggle for what is right until justice is done,” the statement read, adding that his position is not borne out of personal interest alone but out of a collective desire to protect democratic values and internal party democracy within the Yobe APC.
Tumsah called on his supporters, political associates, and well-wishers across the state to remain steadfast, peaceful, and loyal to the party.
He assured them of his doggedness and commitment to seeing the process through in a responsible manner.
He further appealed to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), party officials, and security agencies to ensure justice, fairness, transparency, and credibility during the forthcoming primary election.
“Kashim Musa Tumsah remains optimistic that with fairness and adherence to democratic principles, the APC in Yobe State will emerge stronger, united and better positioned for success in the 2027 general elections,” the statement concluded.
