Buni contacts FG over vandalised 330KVA towers

In an effort to restore power supply to Damaturu and its environs,Yobe state Governor Mai Mala Buni has reached out to the Federal Government for assistance in reconstructing the vandalised 330KVA towers, which caused a complete power outage in the area. 

A statement issued and signed by the Secretary to the Yobe State government, Alhaji Baba Mallam Wali, and made available to newsmen  in Damaturu, revealed that the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has already awarded a contract for the reconstruction of the affected towers. 

The statement read a part, “Meanwhile, to provide an interim power solution for Damaturu and its environs, Governor Mai Mala Buni has directed the Rural Electrification Board (REB) and Yola Electricity Distribution Company (YEDC) to promptly restore the 33KV line from Potiskum to Damaturu.

" It further urged the general public to exercise patience, assuring that the government is making every effort to address the situation.

The statement concluded by calling on the public to continue praying for the peace and prosperity of the state and the country at large.
